Wholly Spirits is proud to present a unique exclusive collaboration with independent bottler That Boutique-y Whisky Company – The Malaysia Skyline Series of specially selected single cask whiskies.
The first whisky to be bottled under this series is a highly sought-after ‘unicorn whisky’ – a 19 Year Old single malt Scotch from Springbank Distillery that has been fully matured in a sherry butt, and bottled at 50.2% ABV.
Released in conjunction with Wholly Spirits’ 5th anniversary, this whisky was personally selected by our founders, Shawn and JB.
“Malts from Springbank Distillery have a huge global cult following, but it’s very rare to see one that is fully matured in a Sherry butt. It’s a true unicorn whisky, especially for avid whisky collectors!” says Shawn.
“This whisky is testament to the high standards we’ve set for the Skyline Series. We want to ensure that each whisky in this series has to be of exceptional quality, and also unique in its own right,” JB adds.
Retailing at RM2,368 per 500ml bottle, very limited quantities of this whisky have been released, with only 231 full bottles available. If you miss out on the full bottles, however, fret not, for we have also produced a substantial number of 50ml miniatures, which is perfect for those who want to sample this unicorn whisky.
“We want to make this whisky as accessible as possible, which is why we’ve also bottled a significant number of miniatures. This way, more Malaysian whisky lovers can get to try this exceptional whisky,” says Shawn.

Look closely, and you can see the tale of a traveller who follows a path from the Twin Towers, walking through busy streets under noisy train tracks, down a secret stairway to reach KL’s best-kept secret – Wholly Spirits!
As part of Wholly Spirits’ philosophy of supporting local bartenders and artisans, we’ve also worked with a Malaysian company to design a custom-made box that houses a full 500ml bottle of the whisky, as well as two 50ml miniatures.
Skyline Series Vol. 1 Tasting Notes:
Nose: A bouquet of red dates, cinnamon and toasted nutmeg, with caramel and toffee candy gently nudging for attention, and a backdrop of leatheriness and musty sherry notes.
Palate: Silky and velvety texture, an instant spark of red dates right in the beginning, before layers of cinnamon and light ginger notes start coating your tongue. That distinct sherry mustiness is apparent, accompanied by plums and nutmeg, and a berry-like note in the middle.
Finish: Long and lingering, a flash of bright white pepper spice. The cinnamon comes to the fore here, with hints of dry bitter cocoa and light streaks of sandalwood warming your throat.
